Start with speed, gusts and direction

The average wind is only part of the picture. Desta shows speed and gusts alongside compass direction, helping you compare the conditions forecast for a place and time. Choose the wind units that suit how you read a forecast.

Follow the forecast across the map

Use the animated wind map and timeline to explore changes through the available forecast. Open the forecast list for a view grouped by day and time. These are forecast data, not a live measurement from a sensor at every point on the map.

Put a name to the direction

Desta displays named Adriatic winds, including Bura, Jugo, Maestral and Tramontana, alongside compass directions. The names add local context; check the actual speed, gusts, timing and warnings rather than treating a wind name as a verdict on conditions.

Keep the wider weather in view

Hourly and 10-day weather views provide context for planning beyond the next few hours. Pair wind information with marine conditions and official forecasts. Future conditions can change, and a forecast should be checked again near departure.
